Kondo enhancement of current-induced spin accumulation in a quantum dot

چکیده
Weak spin-orbit coupling produces very limited current-induced spin accumulation in nonmagnetic semiconductor nanostructures. We demonstrate a possibility to parametrically increase polarization using the Kondo effect. As model object we consider quantum dot side coupled wire, taking into account spin-dependent electron tunneling from wire dot. Using nonequilibrium Green functions, show that many-body correlations between and can at low temperatures by almost two orders of magnitude for moderate system parameters. The enhancement is related peak formation density states instability due strong Coulomb interaction. This effect may be useful electrically manipulate localized spins dots their applications.

Quantum current modeling in nano-transistors with a quantum dot
Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) serve as a new class of ‘zero dimensional’ nanomaterial’s in thecarbon class with sizes below 10 nm. As light emitting nanocrystals, QDs are assembled from semiconductormaterials, from the elements in the periodic groups of II-VI, III-V or IV-VI, mainly thanks to impacts of quantum confinement QDs have unique optical properties such as brighter, highly pho...
متن کاملOrbital and spin Kondo effects in a double quantum dot
– Motivated by recent experiments, in which the Kondo effect has been observed for the first time in a double quantum-dot structure, we study electron transport through a system consisting of two ultrasmall, capacitively-coupled dots with large level spacing and charging energy. Due to strong interdot Coulomb correlations, the Kondo effect has two possible sources, the spin and orbital degenera...
متن کاملUnderstanding the Josephson current through a Kondo-correlated quantum dot.
We study the Josephson current 0-π transition of a quantum dot tuned to the Kondo regime. The physics can be quantitatively captured by the numerically exact continuous time quantum Monte Carlo method applied to the single-impurity Anderson model with Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer superconducting leads. For a comparison to an experiment, the tunnel couplings are determined by fitting the normal-sta...

متن کاملLinear Kondo conductance in a quantum dot
In a tunneling experiment across a quantum dot it is possible to change the coupling between the dot and the contacts at will, by properly tuning the transparency of the barriers and the temperature. Gate voltages allow for changes of the relative position of the dot addition energies and the Fermi level of the leads. Here we discuss the two limiting cases: weak and strong coupling in the tunne...
